THAMES HARBOUR LOAN.

PROPOSAL DEFEATED. Yesterday the voting on the proposal to borrow £60,000 for improvements to Thames Harbour, was held throughout the Harbour Board’s areaThe proposition was not viewed veiv favourably, excepting, of course, at Thames and nearby places. The voting at the various booths was as follows :— For Agst.

Majority against proposal, 959. There are three small returns yet to come in, but the result will not be materially affected.
