WARDEN’S COURT.

MONDAY, APRIL 9. 1923. (Before Mr J. H. Salmon, Waiiden ) The following applications were made at the Warden's Court: — F. J. Hollis applied for a license for a claim, Jubilee S.Q. claim, containing 100 acres.—Granted in terms of Minister’s consent. T. M. Shore’s application for a license of the Talisman S.Q. claim, at Karangahake, formerly worked as the Great Fingal, 62 acres, was recommended to the Minister. An application by Alex Bell for i residence site, section 30a, block 9, Karangahake, containing 8 perches, was granted. C. F. Dette applied for a residence site, section 30, block 9, Karangahake, containing 21 perches.—Granted. ■ Ivy F. Simpson’s application for a residence site, section 6, Komata, containing one acre, was granted. Walter Wintie applied for a license for the Talisman United S.Q. claim at Karangahake, containing 100 acres. —Recommended. T. M. Shore applied for a license for a claim of five acres on Waitawheta Stream.—Granted, subject to conditions recommended by the Minister of Mines. John Ryall’s application to surrender mining privilege of residence site licenses 1865 and 1866 was accepted as from February 2, 1923. Phillip Hore’s application to surrender mining privilege, section 2, block 5, Karangahake, residence site 8450, was accepted as from March 20. 1923. ' Phillip Griffinss application tp surrender mining, privilege, residence site license 3014 was accepted as from March 30. 1923.

Mr William Elliot has donated the sum of £lO2 for the purchase of birds for the Auckland Zoo. These are to include 144 mixed parrots, including pennants, rosellas, quarrians, red rumps, and budgeribars, little green pigeons, peaceful, doves partridge pigeons, diamond sparrows, chestnut finches, zebra and Northern Territory finches.
