KEREPEEHI SPORTS.
EASTER MONDAY GATHERING. The Kerepeehi Sports Association has an advertisement appearing in this issue with reference to its annual sports meeting, to be held mi Easter Monday. Arrangements are now almost completed for a “bumper day,” and judging by the large number of outside inquiries concerning time-table for launch and bus running a record crowd is expected. For tlie benefit of those coming from Paeroa and district it is advised, to save disappointment, to book seats with Brenan and Co. at an early date. Mr H. Kerby is making special arrangements to have all available launches ready to convey a.i large number from Thames, the first launch leaving at 8 a.m. Mr H. White’s big busses will also leave Thames at 9 a.m,, carrying pleasure-seekers direct to the Kerepeehi show ground.
The committee this year has decided to run the refreshment booth, providing a. very plentiful supply of tea, sandwiches, pies, block cake, small goods, and biscuits, fruit, lollies, chocolates, soft drinks, cigarettes, matches, etc., while milk and hot water are to be provided free of charge.
Judging by indications the hors? events appear to be very popular, quite a large number having already been nominated. For the benefit of horse competitors the committee wish it to be known that the whole course will be used this year, and no stone te being left unturned to have same in first-class order, the work of harrowing, discing, rolling, etc., being placed in the able hands of Mr J. H. Nicholson.
