HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., Hamilton, reports At Hamilton on Tuesday, March 13 we had only a moderate yarding of sheep and cattle, but the pig pens were well filled. Competition for fat sheep was on a par with the previous week, but store sheep dull. F.F.M. ewes sold up to 255; cull ewes 14s ; woolly store lambs (low condition) made to 12s 4d to 13s 3d ; culls 8s 6d : beef was much easier, and a number of lines failed to teach owners’ reserves. Small fat steers made from £5 7s 6d to £5 10s, heavy cows £4 7s 6d to £5 2s 6d, medium weights £3 10s to £4 ss. forward cows £2 13s to £3 7s 6d . Store cattip generally were very dull of sale; the bulk of the entry was passed in. Two-year steers sold st £3 2s 6d, .empty cows £1 10s to
£2, There was better competition for bulls, values reached being from. £1 10s to £4. A full yarding of pigs again came forward, and all classes sold readily at similar prices to those obtained at the previous market. Heavy baconers £3 13s to £3 10s ; good porkers and light baconers £2 13s t.o £2 19s ; medium £2 7s to £2 Us, lighter £2 "2s to £2 ss, unfinished porkers 31s to 38s, slips 18s to 235, best weaners Us to 14s, others 6s to 10s.
When turning round in the streani at Kerepeehi early on Tuesday morning the s.si. Gael became stuck in the mud and remained there, completely blocking the traffic till the middle of the afternoon.
