CROWN LANDS BOARD.
MEMBER FOR SOUTH AUCKLAND DISTRICT. On Tuesday next the Crown lands tenants of the South Auckland District will be called upon to elect a member to represent them on the Board. On Monday Mr W. G. Hayward, of Ngatea, was in Paeroa, and in an interview with him a “Gazette ’ reporter gathered that he was a candidate for the position. He has had, a wide experience as a practical farpier, and also as a member of local bodies, and at the present time is a member of the Hauraki Plains County Council, which body has nominated him for the position. It is seldom that a man so eminently suitable for the position offers himself, and it is to be hoped that all Crown tenants in the district will return their voting papers by the 13th insi. (Tuesday next), giving him their hearty support. It will only be by a unanimous vote that Crown tenants in this part of the district can ever expect to have direct representation on the Board, and they should therefore see to it that,.the voting papers are posted in time.
