NGARUAWAHIA SHEEP FAIR. The Farmers’ Coop. Auctioneering Co , Ltd;, reports :— At Ngaruawahia on Wednesday we held our annual sheep fair, yarding upwards of 6000 sheep. Contrary to expectatibns the market showed no decline except in the case of breeding ewes, which seemed a little easier. Lambs were in good demand,, and competition continued brisk till the sale concluded. Fat ewes made from 27s 6d to 28s ; forward wethers 30s 3d to 6d. A good line of 2-toofh ewes reached 33s 6d, second quality sheep, same age, 28s to 30's; f.f.m. ewes 26s to 27s 3d ; f.m. ewes 22s Cd to 265; cull ewes from 14s. Lambs were penned in large numbers, but the demand was sufficient to cope with them. Good rape lambs made to 20s ; store lambs, best, 15s 6d to 17s Id; woolly lambs 15s. to 17s; small lambs 10s 6d to 14s.
