LATE SIR WM. HERRIES.

IMPRESSIVE FUNERAL. LAST .RESTING PLACE. The funeral of the late Sir William Herries took place at Wellington on Friday, the cortege including the Prime Minister (Hem. W. F. Massey), Cabinet colleagues, and others. The procession was an exceedingly long one, and the church (St. Paul’s Cathedral), 'where a. simple but impressive serivce was conducted,, was crowded by mourners who desired to pay a last tribute to the deceased. Subsequently the remains were cremated, and conveyed to Te Aroha, where they will to-day be interred in the Church of England cemetery. All the Ministers in Wellington left there yesterday by special train for Te Aroha.
