Reilly it can be assumed that in “Chivalrous Charley” things move. In fact, it is claimed that they never stop from the moment Charley enters the dining car on his way East, after having spent some time at his uncle’s expense in the wilds of the West among “the roughnecks,” until he lands at his' uncle’s New Rochelle home in the lead of a squadron of motor-cycle “cops,” etc., bent on arresting him before having to call ui the assistance of the Allied armies and navies. The story deals with a gang of, crooks operating in New York’s Chinatown, who learfi of an old patriarch living out in the country and possessing the power to cure the sick and make the crippled whole. With the idea of making money out of his operations Tom Burke and his pals, go to the deaf and blind healer. Then commences a transformation in these crooks that makes one of the most fascinating stories of all time. “The Miracle Man” is based on the story by Frank L. Packard and the play by George M. Cohan, and is the first of the Paramount Artcraft Royalty masterpieces. The leading roles are in the seemingly inspired hands' cf Thomas Meiglian, Betty Compson. Joseph J. Dowling, Lon Chaney, an< J. M. Dumont.
