ORCHARD EAST ROAD POWER.
Sir, —iri your report of the general meeting of the Electric Power Board a misstatement has been made under the heading “A Ngatea complaint.” The chairman is reported to have said that “the small demand for-power on the Orchard East Road would not warrant a line going down, and that the one motor sent there had been removed.” This is not a correct statement of facts, and I am surprised that the chairman was' not better posted. There were at least six motors ordered along the road referred to, as well as lighting in some of the houses. As lines have been put through country where the demand for power was less it is evident that the want of demand fofr power was not the reason for the removal of the motors. As we were definitely promised lighting and power, and now everything has been removed without one word Of explanation, I think it only reasonable that we should be informed why the Board has taken this action. —I am, etc., JAS .SPENCER. Ngatea, February 15, 1923.
