A PAEROA AUTHORESS
(To the Editor.) Sir,—l would Hke to draw attention through your columns to riie honour that has been paid to a wellknown Paeroa resident, and incidentally to the town itself. I refer to the publication by a •metropolitan daily of a serial story (“The Fugitives”) by Alice A- Kenny. Miss Kenny has, of course, been well known to all “Triad” readers for yeair.s, her poems and stories appearing constantly in that extremely exclusive magazine in its days as a New Zealand publication. I am sure Paeroa will not lag behind in giving praise where'it is due— although, it is notorious that “a prophet is of np value in his own country.” There are very few’ writers in New Zealand with Miss Kenny’s insight, charm, and tender sympathy, and all will wish her. the success she so richly deserves.—I am, etc., PAEROA RESIDENT.
