THE POST OFFICE.
“INSANITARY AND OBSOLETE.” AN ANCIENT REQUEST. At last night’s Paeroa Chamber of Commerce meeting Mr D. Leach said Ministers had agreed that a new Post office was necessary, but nothing definite had been done. After waiting for eight it was time to show that there was a limit to patience. He moved : “That tlie Paeroa Chamber of Commerce desires to express its disappointment of the reply given to the Borough Council on its request for the ejection of the Paeroa Post. Office to be prodeeded with, and requests that the PostmasiterGeneral will reconsider the matter and redeem the promise made eight years ago that, a new post office would be erected. The disabilities the post, office staff and operators work under, ami the inconvenience the public suf? fers, are, in the opinion of this chamber, ample justification for urging that the present insanitary and obsolete building shqitld be replaced oy a new structure tp meet present-day requirements.” The motion was seconded by the president and 1 carried.
