Miss E. E. Freeman has been appointed assistant teacher at the Pacroa District Ijligh Schoo], and Miss F. M. Halligan and Mr G. Royal probationers. Mr R. Hemmings, tiie Methodist missioner of Ngatea, was admitted to the Thames Hospital on Wednesday to undergo a fortnight’s observation and treatment. Mr G. Foster,, of the clerical staff of the Paeroa depot for the Thames Valley Electric Power Board, lias been promoted to be manager atMatninata. Mr Foster has many friends in Paeroa, and will be particularly missed m musical circles; The late Mr W. T. Jennings, exrIM.P., whose deatli is announced from Wellington, was a printer by occupation, and had at different times’ managed “The N.Z. Farmer,” the Dominion “Age,” and “The Graphic.” He was born at Auckland (59 years ago, and entered political life in 1892, when he was appointed a member of the Legislative Council. The death is announced, at. the Waipukurau Sanatorium, of Mr Clement H. Pullyn, formerly a resident of Hamilton. Mr Pullyn served as a gunner with the New Zealand Expeditionary Force in France. His death at the early age of 32 was’ due to the effects of having been severely gassed while on active service. The deceased was well known in Paeroa, especially in business circles.
