EXPORT TRADE.

DECREASE THIS YEAR. A slight decrease in the export trade of New Zealand for last year, which is reflected in a falling-off in the exports to the United Kingdom, is disclosed by the official trade statistics for the year, announced last week. The total value of the exports from New Zealand for 1922 was £42,726,249, compared with £44,828,827 for 1921, and £46,441, 946 for 1920. There was a decrease of two and a half millions sterling in .the export trade with the United Kingdom compared with 1921, while the trade with Australia, United States, and Canada was normal. The exports to India and tleylon increased from £70,936 to £206,798, and exports .to Japan increased from £20,4.49 to £211,159.
