KEREPEEHI. A DANCE. A dance .to mark the commencement of the weekly jazz classes was held at Kerepeehi on Tuesday evening. About thirty couples were present, and spent an enjoyable evening. The music was supplied by Mrs Frecklington (piano) ; Messrs N. McMillan (cornet), J. Potter and W. Harmer (violin). Supper was provided by the ladies. The proceeds arc In aid of the hall fund. On Saturday last, the library building was successfully shifted to a Mt's on the corner opposite the uchool. ft is understood that extensive altera-, tiohs aro to be made arid the library opened in the near future. WAITAKARURU. SHIPPING. At the last meeting of the Waitakaruru Dairy Farmers’ Union the question of the lx>at service was briefly discussed. Mr C. Hayward pointed out that the old boat was not. suitable, as she could only carry 17 tons, a considerable quantity of which was deck cargo, and liable to get wet. As the result of representations from the Farmers' Union a hew boat, capable of carrying 35 tons, was trading to Waitakaruru. This boat had proved very satisfactory, and the owners had decided to festal new engines if the settlors would guarantee to support their boat. The meeting decided to ask the settlers to sign an agreement to give preference to the big boat if the owners agree to run for six months bn the conditions submitted to the Farmers’ Union.
