NGATEA. THE DAIRY FACTORY. Although the big Silkeborg churn is now in thorough working order, ,t is understood that it will not be used till next season. The average daily output is now about half a. ton less than at the flush of the season. A motoir to drive the old refrigerating plant is being installed, and the new refrigerator, which is to be driven by steam, has been given a trial. A motor has been installed on. .the wharf to drive the cream can hoist. WAITAKARURU. DOMAIN BOARD. The Waitakaruru Domain Board has ordered sufficient material to ring-fence a ten-acre reserve that has been set. aside by -the Lands Department as a domain. The material, which was to arrive on Wednesday, will also include the timber to build a. bridge and an entrance gate. A working bee will probably be arranged at an early date. It is intended in the immediate future to lay down tennis courts and a football ground on .the domain. ' TENNIS. The first round of the tennis matches for the Laidlaw Cup will be played on Saturday, February 10. when Waitakaruru and Kerepeehi will play at. Waitakaruru, Hopai and Tuma at Hopai, and Kaihere andKopuara'hi at Kaihere. It is understood that each club will nominate six men and four lady players, and that thirteen sets will be playe,. There will be four sots of men’s singles, three men’s doubles, two ladies’ singles, two ladies’ doubles', and two combined sets. Arrangements' have not yet been made for the B grade matches for the Hayward Shield, but this matter will shortly be decided by the Tennis As.sociation.
