HAMILTON STOCK SALE. The Farmers’ Co-dp. Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports : — At Hamilton on Tuesday we again had a full yarding of sheep and pigs, but cattle only in moderate supply. Beef met with a good demand, and practically everything was sold 1 . Steers, heavy, made to £lO, medium weights from £7 7s 6d to £8 Is ; fat cows to £8 5s Mr extra well done heavy sorts, heavy £5 to £6 Bs, medium weights £3 10s to £4 7s.’The competition for grpwn steers did not steem quite so brisk as at some recent. sales, the best selling from £5 Ils to £6 2s for forward conditioned sorts ; stones £5 2s to £5 lOfe ; empty cows from £2 10s to £3 15s ; low-con-ditioned 32s 6d .to £2 ss; Very few young cattle were penned. Bulls made from £1 to £1 15s. Fat sheep were again briskly competed for, ewes making to .’2Bs. A line of very forward wethers made 30s 7d under strong competition. Rape lambs failed to arouse the enthusiasm amongst, the buyers as was witnessed the previous week, but sold well, nevertheless 1 . values being little short of that standard. Woolly sold to 20s Ir, shorn to 19s 9d ; medium sorts 14s 9d to 16s' 6d ; culls 10s 6d. A line of. good -Km. ewes from the West Coast, met with a goed reception, making from 26s 8d to 27s 3d. Pigs were penned in large numbers, comprising chiefly fats, for which prices’ eased a little on last week’s report, while good sold readily a little in advance of late rates. .Heavy baconers brought from £3 to £3 ss, medium £2 15s to £2 19s ; good porkers to light £2 Ss t.o £2 13s; small, well-flnished to medium poi’kei’s £2 to £2 ss, unfinished 30 s to 30s 6d ; ylips 20s to 265, small 15s to 18s ; good weaners 13s to 15s, young and small 7s to 12s. Dairy cows in milk made from £5 to £9, culls £2 to £3 ; best springing heifers £5 to £7.
