Daisy Jerome, accbmpanied by her husband, Captain George la Pouche, 0.8. E., R.1.M., arrived in Paeroa this morning. Miss Jerome will make her only appearance at the Central Theatre to-night. Miss P. R. K. Mason has been appointed assistant, teacher at Ngatea. Miss R. M. Collins, 8.A., daughter pf, the Rev. A. H. Collins, pf New Plymouth, has been appointed head mistress of the Girls’ Grammar School, Suva, Fiji. Miss Collins is a graduate of the Otago University, and has. b.eeii on the staff of the Wellington College for some years. She leaves for Fiji from Auckland by the Makura on January 30.
