Dr. Pomare passed through Paeroa yesterday on his w,ay to Waihi. Mesdames A. J. Garry’s and J. G. McDougall’s many friends will be pleased to learn that they have both so far recovered from their long illnesses as to be discharged from the Thames Hospital, and have returned to their, homes in Paeroa. Mrs J. H. Banks, of Waikino, wjiose death took place at the Waihi Hospital on Tuesday, had been a resident of the district for many years, and was esteemed by- all. In addition to being ever ready to assist all charitable objects, the late Mrs Banks took an active part in patriotic movements during the war.
