RAINFALL ON THE PLAINS.
The following rainfall statistics, as disclosed 'vj the Lands Department giuge at Kerepeehi, maat- interesting , reading: V
The rainfall recorded in Auckland , City foivUie years 1910-22 shows an increase on that of the Plains and is as follows.
It will be noticed that 1922 has been slightly wetter than the average. That the rain has’ been fairly well distributed is disclosed Ijy the monthly totals.
More lain fell in February, 1922 than in any month since the beginning of 1913 with the exception of Marcli, 1915, .when 10.67- inches fell, and October, 1918, when the total was 7.47. t From February 23 to 28, 1922, five inches of rain fell, and caused a well remembered flood. On the 27th of that month 2.8 inches fell,, being mote than .twice as much as on any day since recording was commenced in 1913. .
