The many firiends of Mr R. B. Penlington will be sorry to learn that ne is at present ah inmate of the Thames Hospital, where he was .admitted on Saturday and was operated 'on . for appendicitis on Sunday. Mr Penlington is making good progress towards recovery. Advice lias been received from the Registrar of the New Zealand University that Mr E. A. Poti'itt, of Paeroa, has been successful in foils’ final law examination.
