The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports At our Hamiton sale on Tuesday, December 19, we had a small yarding! of cattle but good supplies ofl shjeep and pigs. Practically no beef was penned. A few fat cows' sold: at rub ing rates, making from £3 15s to £4 2s; fresh-conditioned sorts frpm £2 2s 6d to £2 16s. There was good competition for store steers, 3-yeanplds making from £4 8s to £4 10s. The entry ofyoung cattle was small, and consisted of small odd lots. Bulls sold from £1 15s to £4 15s, according to size and condition. The quality of mutton penned was very plain, and did not induce butchers’ competitionForward 4-tooth wethers made from 24s 2d to 25s 10d; ewes in the same order 20s 3d. Hoggets sold etxremely well, shorn wethers, small, 21s 9d. A small yarding of fat pigs : sold under steady competition, baconers rea, Hsing quite up to last week’s improve! prices. Vallies for pcfrkcrs eased a little, although there was a firm demand. The large entry of store pigs found ready buyers, ail ages selling steadily. Heavy baconers made Prom £3 5s to £3 Ils, medium to heavy £2 18s to £3 4s ; Heavy porkers to light, baconers £2 6s tp £2 15s, medium porkers £1 18s to £2 ss, light porkers £1 12s to £1 16s, unfinished £1 8 s to £1 Ils ; well grown stores 23s' to 27s 6d; sUps 15s t'o 225; weaners 10s to 13s.
