induction service. r ast evening, in the presence of a representative congregation, the Rev. Richard Morgan was inducted into the above charge. Tile Rev J. A. Ryburn presided. After appropriate devotional exercises the Rev, H. C. Stuart preached an eloquent sermon from I Corinthians, chapter 12, verses 12 to 27, dwelling especially on the pictures of life presented to mankind in-Holy Writ, and the part of each man in the grand plan of the Creator. Drawing his illustrations from the ’ mechanical world, the preacher showed the interdependence of each being upon one another, and that true unity followed upon tlhe recognition _Qf this dependence. Mr Ryburn then related the steps leading up to the call, and having put the questions prescribed bV the Declaratory Act to the minister-elect, 'he then duly inducted Richard Morgan to the charge of St. Andrew’s. The fight hand of fellowship lof the presbytery was then given, and the ■ members of the clhurch signified their acceptance of their responsibility to their minister. The Rev. T. H. Roseveare addressed the minister in words of deep meaning and insight upon the trials and joys of a life and work. In a“ powerful address the Rev, M. Richards spoke to the congregation, / tlhe points of his admonition being drawn from the wording of the call sent to the minister when asking him V to come to this parish. Altogether, the service was a very Impressive one, and from Mr Morgan’s record of service and devotion at Centre Bush, Southland, ■ the congregation of St. Andrew's look for- ? ward to many happy days of Christian “ service together. The ladies ofi the church atferwards dispensed refreshments, and a ( social hour was spent in introducing 1 Mr and Mrs Morgan to tihieir new congregation. The work of the Interim-Moderator, the Rev. J. A. Ryburn, was suitably recognised by the presentation of d cheque, this being handed to that gentleman by Mr G. Buchanan after a few well-chosen words of thanks and appreciation. . ■ , Mr Ryburn suitably responded. ' The Rev.
