PAEROA TENNIS CLUB.
IMPORTANT DECISION. An extraordinary general meeting of the Paeroa Tennis Club was held in the Borough Council Chambers on Thursday night, Mn Kenny, the vicepresident, in the absence of the president, presiding over a fair attendance of members. The occasion of the meeting was to receive the reppirt of the sub-cojnmittee which had been appointed to gather information with a view to enabling the club to decide whether it could purchase a piece of land and form courts of its own. The thorough and able manner in whicn the sub-committee had performed its task was evidenced fiy.Xhe report which was read by the secretary. After detailing the result pf enquiries' made, the report concluded with a recommendation by the committee that the dub purchase the piece of land offered by Mr Bush, and shown on an elaborate plan prepared for the purpose by Mr Pe'nlington. The site is part of a section on the Te Alroha Road, practically opposite Mrs Nicholls’ residence, and as ( showp by the plan there is ample room for eight courts. The meeting then by resolution unanimously decided to purchase the piece of land offered by Ml'. Bush, and re-apppinted the sub-committee to carry the scheme into effect, wit.i authority to raise an amount not exceeding £250 for the purpose. A considerable amount of time was spent in revising the rules, but with the help Pf a copy of the rules of the Hamilton Lawn Tennis Club Incorporated this was finally accomplished, and the rules as read were approved for registration under “ The Incorporated Societies Act, 1908.’
