THE SHOW.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY. BIG ENTRIES FOR HORSE EVENTS. Last week saw a good deal of intense excitement in our midst, and on Wednesday and” Thursday of this week we have another form of enteitainment. It was of little use talking show while the air; was so “electrified,” but now this has subsided all attention and effort is being ceritred on the forthcoming annual event. The entries for the horse classes .are particularly good, and exceed those of former shows by a .good number. Some particularly fine hunters are coming from the Waikato to take part, and given a. fine day should give a good exhibition. In the cattle although there is a s'Hght falling off, the quality is by no means wanting, judging by the names of the pedigree breeders of stock who have entered in the various classes. A trotting exhibition, and the parade of prize stock, is timed for an early hour on Thursday afternoon, so that those attending will be able to see the pick of the animals exhibited. Numerous side-shows have appllied for space, and also a number of business firms are taking the opportunity of showing their wares and implements, etc. ‘ Arrangements have been made for luncheon and afternoon tea booths the ground, and also a supply of hot wateOjor those who make the outing a pic'nic, so that visitors will be well catered for. ' The committee has spared no efforts tp make this annual fixture eclipse all former shows' held in Paeroa.
