The many fijiends of Mr Alfred Tetley will regret to elarn that his condition is such that he has had ,to enter the Thames Hospital for treatment. The deatli occurred last night at Tirohia of Kinio Ki mo Pepene, an old Maori, who has lived in this district for many years. The body has been removed to Waitoke, and it is expected that a large tangi will be held. Mr Percy Miller, postmaster at W.aihoa, has just undergone the painful experience of having a bu'llet extracted from lus foot. When quite a young boy he was unfortunate enough to be shot in the foot with a bullet flitom a pea rifle. This lodged under his big toe, and although it has' been there for years it has not caused any trouble until just lately. It recently worked its way along the sole of the foot, and became so painful, that an operation .was necessary.
