TURUA TOWN BOARD.

THE MONTHLY MEETING. A ROADING SCHEME. The Turua Town Board met on Wednesday evening, there being present Messrs: J. A. Bennett (chairman), C. Scott, J. T. Davies, J. Mules, F. Olsen, A. P. Gardiner, ,and the clerk (Mr J. E. Green). The Thames Harbour Board advised that it intended to change the present system of lighting at the Turua rfli'l Kopu wharves where electric light is to be installed. The clerk reported having written on the instructions of the chairman, to Messrs Andersons Ltd., Christchurch, ashing for a quote for a small stone crushing plant (portable for preference), and also for a small roller of about five tons. Messrs Andersons Ltd. advised that the five ton roller was not one usually supplied. An eight-ton roller delivered at Turua would cost £l2OO 10s and a six ton roller £lOl5. A stone crusher would cost £550 and with all attachments' £928. The Hauraki Plains County Council forwarded particulars of formalities necessary for the raising of a loan for a good roads scheme. The Board decided to hold a special meeting next Wednesday to disquss the road loan proposals.
