CLAUDELANDS STOCK SALE.

'At Claudelands sale pn Thursday, November 30, we had a good entry of sheep, including several lots of prime shorn show sheep which sold under keen competition at from 33s' to £2, while show hoggets (out of the wool) made 29s to £1 10s ; other fat shorn wethers 26s 6d to 27s ; fat ewes 24s 6d to 26s 6d; fat lambs 23s 4d ; unfinished ewes 20s 3d. Every pen was required for the cattle, all. classes being well represented. There was steady competition, practically everything being sold. Extra heavy prime/ steers £8 17s 6d to £lO, medium to heavy-weights £6 15s to £B, lighter weight beef £5 to £6 13s ; heavy fat cows and heifers £5 10s tp £6 10s, for heavy prime ; other killable cows, £3 10.- to £5 ; forward cows £2 5s to £3 2s ; store cows £1 to £2 ; cows with calves £2 8s to £3 5s ; 2%-year steers, good, £3 5s to £3 Us; 15-mpnths steers 35s to £2 15s ; Jersey .and Jersey cross yearling heifers, small, £4 5s to £4 10s ; good yearling Shorthorn heifers £3 ss. Dairy cattle were well represented, all good sorts selling freely. Including the advertised herd the best cows made from £8 10s -o £ll 10s ; good, sound cows £6 5s to £8 ss, culls from £1 10s ; heifers, fair quality, £6 to £7; yearling Jersey bulls to £5 10-s ; bulls for export £1 to £3 2s 6d.' Sellers of fat, pigs met the lower prices’ ruling, every fat pig being sold. Baconers made £2 4s ’.o £2 14s, porkers 345, slips 18s to 225, weaners 5s 6d. to 12s 6d.
