DAIRY FARMERS’ UNION.

ORGANISING ON THE PLAINS. BRANCH FORMED AT NGATEA. I Mr A. E. Fear, organising secretary for the Dairy Farmers’ Union, addessed about .20 of; the local daiy farmers pn Monday evening on the aims and objects of the new union, on the lines as previously reported jn the “Gazette.” He was given a very sympathetic hearing, and he answered a number of questions. Mr W. G. Hayward was in the chair. The chairman, at the conclusion of the discussion, said lie had belonge.l to the Farmers’ Union for the past 20 years, and he had nothing to say against it, but bhe Dairy Farmers’ Union was a good organisation and the dairy farmers should support it. Mr McDuff, also a member of the Farmers’ Union, advocated support for the new union, and he moved that they form a branch of the union fit Ngatea. Mr Spence seconded. The motion was carried unanimously. Mr W. McDuff was elected president and Mr J. Spence secretary. The following committee was elected : Messrs F. At Brettell, W. Lawrence, R. Burke, W; C/'.a.rk, H. Dudding, and J. Baxter. A very hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr Fear for his address. KAIHERE AND KOPUARAHI. At a meeting addressed by Mr Fear at Kaihere on Saturday it was decided to form a branch of the Dairy Farmers’ Union, and the following officers were elected : President, Mr E. W. Harris; secretary, Mr J. D. Hewitt; committee, Messrs G. Paton, T. Lynch, F. G. Bird, J. H. Duffy, T. Foote, and J. T. Bolton. A branch) was also recently formed a,t Kopuarahi, the following officers being elected: President, Mr D. J. O'Carroll ; secretary, Mr D. J. Green ; committee, Messrs Russell, J. C. Miller, N. Death, W. E. Hales, C. Hudson, J. Law, and J. Bowen.
