TURUA DEPUTATION.
TO COUNTY COUNCIL. A deputation consisting o r Messrs J. A. Bennett (chairman), F. Olsen, and A. P. Gardiper, of the Tur.ua Town Board, waited on the Hauraki Plains County Council at its meeting ♦n Monday. Mr Bennett asked what the Council was going to dp with regard to the adjustments. The chairman (Mr J. C. Miller.) explained that the Coun'ci.i would give the Board tworthirds of the collectable general rates for the curi ent year. The same committee which had met Mr Meek had been authorised to compicte arrangements. Mr Bennett also brought up the matter of dedication of roads in the Town Board area, in a section to be cut up by Mr R. W. Bagnall. Cr. Harris moved that. Mr Bagnall be requested to put in a formal application for the dedication of his roads and on the receipt of it the Council would give due consideration to the Board’s representations. The motion was carried. ROADING SCHEME. Mr Bennett said they were going in for a reading scheme over the town area. They would 'have to call a meeting of ratepayers and put it before them. The ehairmna said the clerk would write to the Board and explain the steps necessary for the raising ofp loan.
