THE NETHERTON FERRY.
INVESTIGATING COMPLAINTS, With regard tp a compal'int against the/ man controlling the Netherton fe/ry received at last month’s Hauraki Plains County Council meeting the bounty clerk (Mr E. Walton) reported as follows: “As you know, at last meeting a committee was appointed to deal with the applications for the position of ferryman at Netherton' From information received your committee decided to inquire into the complain: which came before you fast meeting, It went to Netherton and interviewed several people there, and instructed me to obtain further particulars of the complaint. I wrote to Mr who has replied stating that he will see his client and write to me at a later date. I recommend that yoi extend the time (on closing the applications for the position of ferryman, so that your committee may obtain further information and make a recommendation tp you on the subject.” The matter in connection with the appointment of a mail to take charge of the Netherton ferry was’ left with the committee to deal with, the time being extended. Cr. Mayn said he had spoken to several people in the vicinity, and they were quite satisfied with the ferryman.
Cr. McLoughlin said the Rmryman had the confidence of the people.
