LOCAL DAIRYING.
INCREASE IN PRICES. Mr W. H. Blakeway, the local secretary of the N.Z, Co-operative Dairy Cp.. Ltd., advises that the following prices will be paid out to suppliers for buttep-fat supplied during last month. These advance prices will be paid on the 21st inst.: Superfine, Is 2d; first grade. Is l%d; second grade 11 ; cheese, Is 4d. These prices are a considerable increase on the amount anticipated earlier in the month/. The London house of the company advises the following prices by cable : Butter,, Anchor brand, 210 s per cwt.: first grade, 208 s; unsalted, 218 s. Cheese, white and coloured, 1265. The stock of butter on hand at that time was 3000 boxes, excluding the butter on the “Athenic,” which was then ready to unload. The foregoing figures, which have been authoritatively supplied, show a decided increase in the prices of dairy produce, and will do much to dispel the spirit of pessimism that has existed lately.
