LABOUR’S COMPLAINT. The Executive Council of the American Federation of Labour has issued an address .to the American people calling upon all members of the federation and other citizens to demand of their Senators* and Congressmen that the Volstead Act be amended, says “The New York Times Current History." It declared that its ln- i vestigations had shown that there bad been: — 1. A general disregard of the law among all classes of people, including those who made the law. 2. Creation of thousands of moonshiners in both country and city. 3. The creation of an army ofl bootleggers. 4. A amazing increase in the traffic in poisons apd deadly- concoctions and drugs. 5. An increased rate pf insanity, blindness, and crime among the of these concoctions and drugs. 6. Increase in unemployment due to loss of employment by workers in forty-five industries directiy or indirectly connected with the manufacture of liquors. 7. Increase in taxes to city, State, and national! Governments amounting to approximately 1,000,000,000 dollars a year. The American Federation of Labour represents 4% million workers, who have tested Prohibition and ibund it wanting. Vote Continuance ! M
