TURUA TOWN BOARD.
adjustments with county. COMMISSION APPOINTED. As a result of the failure of the Turua Town Board to agree with the Hauraki Plains County Council regarding adjustments as a consequence of the recent formation of the town board the Hauraki Plains County Council was advised at its meeting on Monday that a commission had been appointed. The Department of Internal Affairs advised that the audit inspector (Mr B. A. Meek) had been appointed < commission to make an award as to the matters mentioned in section 11 of the Town Boards Act, 1908, and section 4 of the Town Boards Amendment Act, 1908 (No. 2), regarding the financial adjustments between the Turua Town District and the Haurakb Plains County Council. Mr Meek intimated that he would soon be auditing the Council’s books, preparatory to inquiring into the dispute. It was decided that a committee consisting of the chairman, Cr. Hayward, and the clerk be appointed to represent the Council.
