WHAREPOA FERRY.

REPAIRING APPROACH ROADS.

The bad condition of the Wharepoa Ferry approach roads will, according to the Thames County Council’s decision on Wednesday, soon be repaired. The chairman said that Mr Higgins, the Hauraki Plains County engineer, had suggested that if the Thames County found the metal the Plains County would be willing to carry it to the site and spread it partly on the eastern and partly on tjie western side. About 40 yards would do. The speaker thought it was a reasonable offer. He would suggest that it would be best to paten up a few of the worst holes till they could do something better. It. was decided to accept Mr Higgins’ offer.

In a communication the Minister of Public Works promised to give every consideration to the Council’s representations for a grant for reinstating the road approach to the Wharepoa ferry.
