RETURNED SOLDIERS’ CONCERT.
AN ENJOYABLE EVENING. The public of Paeroa and district are scarcejy to be congratulated on the way they rolled up to the Soldiers’ Concert on Thursday night, the theatre only being moderately filled. A most enjoyable programme was submitted, and all tastes were carefully catered for—from a Shakespearian sketch to a supposedly comic song introducing local “hits.” The items rendered were all heartily received, and went with a swing. It is certainly interesting to record that of the nineteen items submitted without exception each one was encored. Messrs Hodson and Edwards are to be congratulated on their efforts, and it is to be hoped that the money raised by the concert will fully justify the undertaking.
