The senior grade final between Turn a and Ngatea on Saturday was a poor’ exhibition of Rugby, both teams failing to play proper flootb'a'N. The practice of playing the man instead of the ball was too prevalent. Though the Ngatea team contained a number of junior men the game was by no means one-sided, but Turua did not appear to have much difficulty in holding their own. For the Turua team Bedford was the most conspicuous of the forwards and Thrupp the best of the backs. Ngatea’s best forward was O’Neil, while McGuire shone but in the backs. A number of enthusiasts appear to be under the impression that Turua and Kerepeehi have yet to play off before the championship is decided, butan inquiry from’ the secretary of the union brings forth the information that last'Saturday’s match was the final one, as far as the competitions are concerned.
