CENTRAL THEATRE PICTURES to-night. “MADAME PEACOCK.” In “Madame Peacock,” the picture she herself has declared her greatest since “Revelation," Nazimova will appear to-night. This latest photoplay, from a story by Rita Weiman, will present the Russian star as Jane Goring) a brilliant stage celebrity who finds the heights of f.ame somehow dp not bripg tlhe complete happiness she had imagined. Written by one of the leading dramatic writeis of the day and enacted by undoubtedly the most finished actress in the world, “Madame Peacock” is a masterly and telling portrayal of the soul of a remarkable woman. At the same time, and later in the story, Nazimova comer to the front in a second character: as Goria Cromwell, the gifted, nondescript little girl to whom Jane Goring is rather more than a goddess. WEDNESDAY NIGHT. “CONFESSION." On Wednesday will be presented one of the greatest photo-plays of; the day, a visualisation of Hal Reid’s soul stirring drama “The Confession," featuring Mr Henry B. Walthall, the star of “The Birth of a Nation.:" “The Confession ” is a Play, not a sermon. It is a red-blooded drama, in which the primitive passions are brought into conflict with the soul of a pries.. It is absolutely non-sectarihn in spirit, and is full of sentiment that rings true of a plot unique. It is claimed that the “Confession" can be placed without hesitation alongside the biggest and best productions of the year. The story of the picture is one that enthrals, encompassing, as it does, the gamut of every human emotion, the love of sweetheart, fb* sweetheart brother for brother, and last, but not least, the love of a mother for her son. “The Confession” as a stage play has had a wonderful career, and the success of the picturisation stands unparalleled.
