As Brenan and Co's, passenger car was on the return trip from Ngatea on Saturday the driver noticed a car stuck hard and fast on the unmetalled portion of the Netertpn-Turua road. Oh ! the irony of things ; for the occupant of that car, breathless with exertion, and bespattered liberally with yellow clay, proved to be no less a, personage than tlhe Hauraki Plains county engineer. The Waikato Valley Dairy Co., Ltd., advise per advertisement in this issue that they are buyers of cream at their Frankton Junction factory, and point out it is not necessary for farmers to take up shares to entitle them to become suppliers to this 'company.
Feeling ran high in the football final at Ngatea On Saturday, when Turua defeated Ngatea by 12 points to 0. It appeared as though the participants were attempting to play the man rather than the ball. Just after half-time Ivan, a Ngatea player, evidently resenting a word of caution given by the referee, .walked off the field, while at another stage Elvidge, also of Ngatea., was ordered off.
In connection with the recent inspection of the Hikutaia creek by the chairman and engineer of the Hauraki Plains County Council, to endeavour to ascertain whether it womd be suitable to float metal barges, the creek has again to be inspected at the lowest neap tides.
