WEDDING.

MAITLAND—HILL, A pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Mary’s Church, Paeroa, las*. Wednesday, the contracting parties being Mr J. Maitland, of Ohakune, and Miss Ellen Elizabeth Hill, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs W. G. Hill, of Paeroa. The Rev. Father Dunphy performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, was handsomely attired ip a white silk dress., wreath, and veil, and carried a bouquet of white flowers. The bridesmaids were Misses Evelyn and Iris O’Brien, cousins oi; the bride, both wearing cream casnmere frocks and carrying bouquets of daffodils. Mr James Hill atced as best man. After the ceremony the bridal party adjourned ,tp the residence of the bride’s parents where a sumptuous breakfast was partaken of. Mrs Hill, the mother of the bride, was dressed in a navy blue costume. Neat speeches were made by the Rev. Father Dunphy, the bridegroom, the bride’s father, and other friends of both parties. The bride was the recip'ent of numerous presents from friends and a gold wristlet watch from the bridegroom. In the evening a number of friends assembled at the Soldiers’ Hall, where several toasts were given and duly honoured. Dancing was kept up until the early hours to the music of Mr J. Morrison. The catering both at the wedding breakfast and the refreshments in the evening were carried out by Mr T. Hale in a very Fatisfaetory manner. The happy couple left for Ohakune. The bride’s travelling costume was navy blue and lemon hat..
