BASKET-BALL.
PAEROA V. THAMES. On Saturday last the A., 8., and C. teams of basketball from the Thames South school journeyed tp Paeroa to try conclusions with teams picked from the District High School- They were met on arrival at the railway sta’ion by the local players, and before lunch one game of basket-bail between C. teams was played, resulting in a win for Paeroa, 10 to 2. B. teams then tried conclusions, and again Paeroa succeeded in holding the game by 18 to 14. The A, teams match also resulted in a win for tne local players by 10 tp 8. Mr Hook, of Thames, refereed the C. and B. teams matches, and Miss Sutton the A. matches. In a further match, Paeroa B. team against Thames A- teani, the latter won by 16 to 13. Miss Sutton had charge of the game. The visitors were entertained to lunch and also atfernoon tea by the local players in the Bowling Club’s pavilion, Mrs Taylor and Miss Shaw supervising.
