HUMOUR.
THE WIT OF THE WORLD. A particularly fine magazine, that presents the best of the world’s humour in art and literature, has just reached us. It is entitled “Humour,” and it is well named, providing, as it does, a laugh in every inch of space.
“Humour” gathers its matter from all the famous witty papers of the world, including London “Punch,” “Passing Show,” “Tit-Bits,” "Pearson’s Weekly,” “Rondon Opinion,” “Sketch," "Weekly Telegraph,” "Answers,” “Edinburgh Scotsman,” ‘‘Wayside Tales," Life,” “Judge,” “Buffalo Express," “Boston Transcript," “California Pelican,” “Saturday Evening Post,” “Ladies’ Home Journal,” "New York Tribune,” “Chicago Herald,” “Stray Stories," and a dozen other English-speaking magazines.
Among the foreign papers dealt with we find many delightful extracts, translated into English, from “Martin,” "Le Rire,” “Le Regiment," “L’Elt'euvein (France) ; “Kasper” (Sweden), "Karikaturen’.’ (Norway), “De Amsterdamme" (Holland), "Simplicissimus” (Germany), and “Die Muskete" (Austria); other countries whoso artists and writers are represented in “Humour” are Italy, Spain, and Norway.
No better way could be imagined of bringing Australasian readers in touch with the humour of the world, for in a single magazine is presented the cieam of the wit from all the publications mentioned. The matter includes short stories, humorous paragraphs, funny and illustrated jokes.
"Humour” is published on the 7th and 21st of the month, and is on sale at 3d per copy.
