KIRIKIRI BRIDGE.
PETITION FOR A POLL. A request that a poll be taken in connection with the proposed construction of the Kirikiri bridge and that, the rating area be defined will be m.nle to the Hauraki Plains County Council at its meeting on Monday by a deputation from the Turua, Ratepayers’ Association, supported by representatives from the Ngatea branch of the N.Z. Farmers’ Union. It is certain that there will be considerable discussion during the deputation and in council. If a poll is to be taken a motion on the Council’s books must be rescinded, as it has already been decided that the loan for the bridge be raised under a section of the Act not requiring the proposals to be put before the ratepayers.
