WEDDING BELLS.

SARJANT—HEAPPEY. The marriage took place at St. Paul’s Church, Paeroa, on Wednesday last, August 2, of Mr George E. Sarjar.t, of Netherton, son of Mr and Mrs Geo. Sarjant, of Puru, Thames, to Miss Florence Muriel Heappey, daughter of Mr and Mrs R. H. Heappey, of Netherton. The officiating minister was the Rev. F. B. Dobson. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a gown of white satin charmeuse. She was attended by Miss Alice Sarjant (sister of the bridegroom) and Misses Evelyn, Violet, and Mavis Heappey (sisters of the bride). Miss Sarjant wore a frock of grey crepe-de-chine, Misses Evelyn and Violet Heappey were attired in creani crepe-de-chine dresses with pink trimming, and Miss Mavis in white crepe-de-ehine. All wore pretty hats to match. The bridegroom was attended by his brother, Mr John Sarjant, as best man, and Mr John Harms as groomsman.

The bridegroom’s present to the bride was a gold bangle set with pearls and amethysts, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches set with amethysts and rubies. After the ceremony a reception took place in the Soldier’s Hall, where Mr and Mrs Heappey entertained a large number of guests. The health of “The bride and bridegroom” was proposed by the vicar, Rev. F. B. Dobson, ?n a happy speech, and was drunk with musical honours. The bridegroom, in a few well-chosen word's, responded. “The bridesmaids was proposed by Mr John Sarjant, and responded to by Mr John Harms on behalf of the young ladies. “Tae Parents,” proposed by Mr. W, D. Nicholas, was responded to by Messrs Heappey and Sarjant.
