KIRIKIRI BRIDGE.
MOVEMENT FOR A POLL. NGATEA FARMERS’ SYMPATHY. Consequent on the movement at Turun to urge the Hauraki Plains Coum ty Ccunci-Lto take a po'll on the Kirikiri bridge proposals Mr W. Madgwick, representing the Turua Ratepayers’ Association, attended the meeting of the Ngatea branch of the N Z. Farmers’ Union on Saturday and requested the co-operation pt the branch to assist the Turua people m their agitation.
Mr Madgwick commented on the position, declaring it was unfair that the Council should continue with such a large venture without the sanction or an expression of opinion from the ratepayers.
The meeting was unanimously sympathetic with Mr Madgwick’s views and elected Messrs W. McDuff and A. Cleaver to join the Turua deputation when it waited on the County Council at its next meeting.
