JULY’S RAINFALL.
A DRY MONTH. The present winter, unlike the past summer, has been a dry one on the Hauraki Plains. Most of the days have been fine and sunny, terminating in cold, frosty nights. There was little rain during the past month (July), there being 22 days on which no rain fell. During the nine wet days 2.38 in were recorded at th? Lands Department’s office at Kerepeehi the largest falls being on July 20 and 21. when 1.05 in were gauged. The month’s rainfall is well below the average, and since 1912 it is, with one exception, the lowest recorded. In 1920 the fall was only 1.73 in, and in 1912 it was 3.16 in. The highest recorded for the month of July is 5.24 in in 1915. Th? total fall for the year to date is 26.80 in. The following are .the fig-
