HAURAKI PLAINS COUNTY
ADDITIONAL BUSINESS. At the County meeting on Monday the fallowing additional business was dealt with: MANGAWHARA ROAD. It was le r t with Cr. Whitechurch, the clerk, and the engineer to make arrangements to meet the Mangawhara Road settlers, who were in a bad position with regard to ro.ads. On Cr. Whitehcurch’s motion it was decided to ask the Public Works Department to put on the Estimates enough money to make a 16ft formation, on the Mangawhara Road before the Council would take it over. COMMI TTEE’S RECOMMENDAT.IONS The following recommendations of the Council in committee were made to the open coupcil and adopted: That it be placed on record that the culvert being constructed at Tahuiui was started by Mr. Dillon ; and that Mr. Higgins was in. no way connected with it. That the engineer be instructed to lay out and prepare plans and specifications for the Ngataipua East Road loan. That the engineer report as to the quantity and cost ofj metal require 1 for the Miranda Road. Thai, the engineer; report op the mattes of replacing the Torehape bridge. That the engineer report on the question of repairs to the Tahun.a Quarry road. That any soft metal quarried by Mr. Knapp .and supplied to the Tahuna settlers have a royalty placed on it. the amount of which is tp be fixed by the engineer.
