WHAREPOA ROADS.

«> APPROACH TO THE I EERY. IN VERY BAD STATE. Reference to the very bad state of the Wharepoa- Road tpwards the ferry was made at the Thames County Council meeting on*Wednesday. Cr. Brunton said the road was in a very bad state and it would be impassable in a few months if nothing was done. It would take a scow load of. metal to repair it. The chairmap. (Mr. H, Lowe), said there was £3OO to spend in the Hikutaia riding. Cr. Alley said the road was now portion of the main road between the Plains and Paeroa, and two service cars (including the mail car) were running over it twice a day. ’ He thought those ears should be taxed.. Cr. Brunton said the road was impassable on the Nethertop side. Cr. McCormick said .the metal for thg Wharepoa roads should he taken by scow. The Chairman : We will see if we can fix up some scheme for this road. Further discussion was deferred.
