j PAEROA SCHOOL GROUNDS. j The secretary of the State Forest Service, Wellington, in a letter to the secretary of the District High School Committee, Mr. J. Couper, says : “I beg to acknowledge receipt of your letter of the Bth instant, and in reply thereto I have much pleasure in informing you that this Service will assist you as much as possible in your efforts to get your school grounds planted. Unfortunately, owing to the Economical condition of the country; it has been found necessary to stop the free issue of trees, but I think you will find from a perusal of the enclosed price-list that the prices are very low and well within the powers of; your committee to purchase. “Any further information you may desire will be given to you if you will knidly communicate with the Conservator of Forests, State Forest Service, Whakarewarewa.”
