Amongst the remits brought .before the Farmers’ Union annual conference in committee- was the Allowing from the Kaihere branch: ‘‘That, any person, before being admitted as a members of the Farmers’ Union should swear allegiance to the Crowp.’’ This-remit was introduced by Mr. E. W. Harris, of Kaihere, and carried unanimously without discussion. The conference then rose and sang the National Anthem.
