BOROUGH BY-LAWS.
OBVIATING INCONSISTENCIES. SPECIAL MEETING OF COUNCIL. The Paeroa Borough- Council held a special meeting last evening, when His Worship the Mayor, Mr. P. E. Brenan, presided over the following: Crs, E. Edwards, Wi Bain, F. McDonald, W. Marshall, F. Flatt, T. P. Vjlglar, and D, Leach. An apology was received for the absence of Ci’. G. P. Lamb. The declaration to strike rates, already published, was confirmed. It was decided that, the brick area by-laws remain unaltered, with the exception of ' a few minor details, which will be arranged later. The sanitary by-jlaws were approved of and will come up for confirmation in 30 days’ time. In the meantime a copy of the by-laws will be lying on the table for public inspecton. so that those ratepayers interested may make themselves conversant with the intended regulations. On the motion of the Mayor, and seconded by Cr. Bain, a resolution was carried to the effect that the whole of the Borough by-laws, including the sanitary by-laws now approved, be consolidated, and that a special committee, consisting of lhe Mayor, Crs. McDonald, Marshall, and Edwards, make the consolidation and such alterations as are necessary to obviate duplication and inconsistencies which might exist. An application by Mr., Wl M. Cullen to build a shop having two brick side walls, a brick front, and iron back, next, to the shops already being erected for him, was granted.
